This may explain why some previous designs did not work as expected. The good match between this new mathematical formulation and experiments should boost confidence in the Mach effect thruster concept to stimulate further developments.

- [comment]: This is a fascinating story in several ways, so bear with me a minute, because this will wander. First a few relevant facts about quartz, none of them unknown to us today; quartz watches rely on its properties, particularly this one:
"Quartz clocks and quartz watches are timepieces that use an electronic oscillator regulated by a quartz crystal to keep time. This crystal oscillator creates a signal with very precise frequency [32,768 Hz -- cycles per second], so that quartz clocks and watches are at least an order of magnitude more accurate than mechanical clocks." [Irrelevant side question: can animals with better high frequency hearing than us hear them?]
Next point:
"Quartz can produce an electrical reaction. Minerals with this ability are called piezoelectric. The electrical reaction can be created by applying a charge, physical stress, or heat. Quartz is also distinguished as a gem that is capable of triboluminescence, or the ability to create light under pressure." Quartz displays rely on this one.
And:
"Crystals, such as quartz, can be tapped for electricity using a piezoelectric (mechanical energy discharge) method. By securing the crystal and subjecting it to direct force with a permanent magnet, a detectable amount of electricity is released."
OK, now let's add in a few other observations on a different level. A study of the intricate system of stone circles, standing stones and ley lines led me down some obscure reading pathways. Throughout is the mention that the old, weathered stones that have been standing in place for millennia are universally made of stones with a high quartz concentration in their matrix. This article explains one reason why. The others are more esoteric, so that's where I'm going with this, of course.
Somewhere in all these old books and reprints, I saw the work of a British geologist turned antiquity researcher who had noticed this, wondered why, and set out to try to figure it out. [I wish I could remember the attribution, but there were so many books and I don't.] He noticed that many solitary stones were by streams, or old streambeds, so he wondered about the others that weren't, because he had been thinking there might have been a Goddess water association. Looking at geological surveys (and using the services of well-respected "water-witchers" when possible) he found that they were mostly located over underground water flows, often where two flows crossed each other at different depths.
The electrical properties of quartz were known, so he decided to investigate. He chose an ancient stone located over two crossing flows and started mapping it daily it with a Gauss meter to measure charge. What he found was that the stream flow provided enough impetus to evoke a charge in the stone, miniscule, but measurable. As the days went from the New Moon to the Full Moon, the charge built noticeably, organizing into a clockwise spiral up the stone, which then disorganized during the waning Moon, before reorganizing into a counterclockwise spiral over the next lunation. Intrigued, he started testing others, finding the same thing. The premise is that the stream flow, in concert with the Moon's tidal pull, evokes a small charge in the quartz in the stone. Its slight expansion under charge presses out on the matrix, putting itself under more pressure, producing more charge, an effect that begins decreasing after the Full Moon. Explanation? No clue. Just another mystery awaiting investigation.
Tangentially, this might add a layer to the speculation about why Avebury -- the mile-wide henged stone circle connected to Stonehenge by a carefully designed avenue -- contains two inner stone circles, one of 29 stones, and one of 30. The obvious explanation was that this allowed them to time to the actual lunation cycle of 29 1/2 days, by alternating circles for their daily rituals. This may have also timed with the clockwise/counterclockwise cycle noticed in the standing stones.
Now, add in one final property, observed by countless people who have worked with crystals on the energetic level: quartz may be the best stone at receiving and holding intention, possibly because it has an internally energizing capability maintained by the quotidian flows around it.
So, suddenly we have a site potentially capable of massive energy acquisition, receiving energy funneled in some way we don't understand, capable of building that energy internally, holding its intention, and possibly feeding this increased esoteric energy back out through a network of lesser but similarly designed sites. And the stones might even have glowed.
Spoiler, the ancient, almost indestructible mineral is quartz.

The above photos when put together one above the other, we see a blatant discrepancy on the bottom photo. There is a huge dome on the area of the asteroid at the front of it that's now got a dome there. There seems to be some tunnels in white radiating out from the central dome. Is this leading into the asteroid or are they support for the dome?
